If you're new, welcome!

Welcome Story of My Life readers!
If this is your fist time here at In Search of Sunshine, welcome, and thanks for popping in.

I'm Cara and I live in Seattle, WA.
I moved up here from Sacramento, CA about a year and a half ago and although I'll always be a California girl at heart, Seattle has grown on me. Yeah, it rains (not as much as you'd think) but it is just a small price to pay.
I think that the Seattleites just like to tell people that it rains so much to keep them from moving here.
One of the best things about living in Seattle is Pike Place Market. If you are looking for fresh fish or flowers, this is the place. If you just want to people watch, this is also the place.
Our sports teams may not be the best (ok, that is being generous), but I love going to the games anyway. I'm no fair weather fan.
My boyfriend moved to Seattle with me and it has been quite an adventure adapting to our new life together. Being so far from friends and family has taught us a lot and forced us to learn to be really independent but it is something that we did together and it is an experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.
I love to cook and love trying out new recipes. Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) is my favorite. I like to think that what I make does actually look like the pictures in her books but I think I at least deserve an A for effort.
I love to travel, even if it just a weekend trip. I have not traveled all over the world or experienced many different cultures (unless you count that trip to Tijuana in college) but hope to someday and for now, any new place that I have the opportunity to visit is just perfect for me. Hawaii is my happy place. My perfect day is laying on a beach reading for hours with a drink.
This blog is my place to document my life and my pictures.
These are my adventures and my thoughts on everything.
Sometimes its funny, sometimes its serious but its always just me.

Growing up and moving to a different state was tough but it was also the best decision I've ever made. I am learning a lot about myself and life and learning that if you don't live life in the moment and for yourself, you might miss it. We should always be taking chances and trying new things.

I hope you come back for more!

I am off to San Diego in the morning for the Rock and Roll half marathon this weekend. To say that I'm nervous would be an understatement. I am TERRIFIED but the weekend is finally here. You can read more about my love/hate relationship with running here

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Hi, Cara! Yes, you're right about us Seattleites making it all sound worse than it really is (shhh) but sometimes, come March, the rain can get to ya. :)
I'm happy to see another Seattle blogger around the internets!
