Dear Evan: Your packing method is not superior to mine, despite what you think. Going from "head to toe" is an extremely unorganized way to pack. What about stuff you need that does not fit into the "head to toe" category? My lists work. You think I'm crazy, but they work, I tell you. We will see who forgot anything this time. You are going to owe me.When you admit that I'm right, I might even help you out packing for Hawaii and make you your very own packing list.
Dear diet coke: Thanks for fueling my addiction this week. I actually really needed you to keep trucking since this felt like one of the longest weeks of my life. I don't care if they say its bad for me, I can't help it (spoken like a true addict).
Dear parents: I am so excited to see you guys this weekend. I am excited to see Oakley and sleep in my own bed (without anyone stealing the covers or hogging the bed). I am actually really looking forward to sushi tonight at our favorite hole in the wall place that is by far the best I've ever had. This will be the highlight of my day.
Dear Sacramento weather: Rain? Whaaa? Please don't rain. I'm coming to California to get AWAY from the rain. That would be a cruel joke to rain while I'm home.
Dear half marathon: You are still in the back of my mind and I'm trying not to let that ruin my weekend, you know, the fact that this is only a week away now. I will worry about that come Tuesday.
Dear troops: Thanks for fighting for our freedom and putting your lives at risk for everyone in this country. We remember what this holiday is really about. I know that sometimes people tend to forget and look forward to the beer and BBQ and start of summer, but we remember and we thank you.
Hope you all have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend and remember what this holiday is really about.
